Article Submission Guidelines and Publication Guidelines

1. Types of Accepted Articles

A. Original Research Articles

  • The Libyan Journal of Food and Nutrition publishes original research articles of high scientific quality in all disciplines.

  • The research paper must contain clear sections including:

  • Abstract and Keywords

  • Introduction

  • Materials and Methods

  • Results

  • Discussion

  • Conclusions

  • Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  • References

  • Tables and Figures

  • The total word count from the introduction to the conclusion should not exceed 3,500 words. • The text should be written in paragraphs and complete sentences. And linguistically clear.

  • The number of authors should not exceed six.

  • The number of high-quality tables and illustrations should not exceed 10.

  • Approximately 25 references may be included.

  • References should be more than 80% recent.

B. Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Articles

  • The journal publishes only systematic review and meta-analysis articles written by experts in the controversial issues and recent developments.

  • The article should be divided into:

  • Title page

  • Abstract and keywords

  • Main body

  • References

  • Tables and figures

  • The main body should not exceed 6,000 words.

  • The text should be written in a clear and organized style, using complete sentences and coherent paragraphs.

  • The number of authors should not exceed six.

  • The maximum number of references is 100.

  • References should be more than 70% recent.

C. Technical Articles

  • The Libyan Journal of Food and Nutrition publishes articles that present research methods and techniques and the use of materials.

  • A technical article should be divided into the following sections:

  • Title Page

  • Abstract (unstructured summary not exceeding 250 words)

  • Introduction

  • Technique Section (written in numbered, step-by-step format, with each step described directly, not narratively)

  • Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • References

  • Legends for Tables and Figures

  • Tables and Figures

  • The text (except for the Technique section) should be written in complete sentences within organized paragraphs.

  • The total word count from the introduction to the conclusion should not exceed 1500 words.

  • The number of authors should not exceed four.

  • The maximum number of references is 10, and the maximum number of tables and figures is 6.

  • References should be more than 90% recent.

  • Letter to the Editor

In addition to the articles mentioned above, the Libyan Journal of Food and Nutrition welcomes letters to the Editor. The editor decides on publication at the discretion of the editor-in-chief of each journal, after consulting with the editorial board if necessary. The submission may be a commentary on a previously published paper, highlight new developments in the field, or address any related issue. The submission should not exceed 500 words.
